June 6, 2017 – UL issued a warning regarding certain Foshan Teyuan electronic ballasts that are not authorized to bear the UL Mark for Canada or the United States; they do not comply with UL’s safety standards and may pose a shock or fire hazard.
The warning involves 836 electronic ballasts, models TBE-126FW, TBE-261FS and TBE-391FS, manufactured in December 2015 by Foshan Teyuan Electronic Science & Technology Co. Ltd.
The ballasts bears an unauthorized UL Mark and the following information:
ELECTRONIC BALLAST MODEL: TBE-126FW or TBE-261FS or, TBE-391FS
These instant-start ballasts are not marked “Instant Start” nor “IS”, and may have been installed in luminaires with lamp holders not rated for use with IS ballasts; hence, the potential shock or fire hazard.
