What is an Emergency Warning Board?

YELWarning is a lightweight Emergency Warning Board (EWB) that is installed next to the track to warn train drivers of temporary speed restrictions.

It has two high powered LEDs mounted on a reflective yellow screen with black chevrons.

The EWB is Network Rail approved, has shoulder straps for handsfree carrying and it is the first speed restriction product that allows instant board-to-engineer communication.

SMS and/or Email notifications will be sent if the board has fallen over, when turned on or off and, our battery is low (2 days to lights out), or lights have turned off/failed.

All you need to do is position the Emergency Warning Board (EWB) onto the line-side clamp by sliding the mounting bar into the bottom of the EWB or positioning it onto the ballast basket/support clamp.⁣

Turn the key switch on, the LEDs will turn on continuously for 10 seconds whilst the electronics self-diagnose for any faults. After 10 seconds, the LEDs will revert to normal operation.

The warning board is NOW in operation mode. The key should now be removed to avoid unauthorised switching off the EWB.⁣

Once the EWB has been turned on, pre-determined recipients will begin to receive messages upon turning on the EWB.

Messages will include Status – EWB Start or Halt / Battery Low Alarm / Upright or Fallen Over.
